Here are a few pictures from the first day of our trip. The day started out totally smooth sailing but literally came to a grinding halt when we got stuck behind a 7 car pile-up accident that closed the interstate for over 3 hours. This happened when we had only 65 miles to go! Thankfully our children are AMAZING travelers and we all came out on the other side (10 hour drive turned into a 14 hour drive!) safe, healthy, and only a little tired! :)
At one point we decided we'd try and go around the back up (thanks to the GPS and Bree's iPhone!) but hundreds of other people had this same idea... SO... we got to see some scenic Kentucky countryside and an itty bitty little town where the people just sat and stared at all the traffic driving through their 2 lane, one stop light, one gas station little town!

| We stopped in Asheville, NC for lunch on our way to Lexington, KY. We HIGHLY recommend Neo Cantina!!! It was DELICIOUS, servers were great, we got to eat outside in the sunshine, and even Reuben got to join us while we ate! |
