Swim Camp

Before we moved to North Carolina in May Lydia liked to swim but was afraid to move off of the steps in a pool. She freaked her freaked whenever a drop, A DROP, of water came near her eyes, and didn't have very much confidence when it came to swimming in general. It is now August and Lydia has been through one 2-week session of swim lessons, and two 1-week sessions of INTENSE "Swim Team Swim Camp" here on Ft. Bragg. She did the first session of swim camp at the end of June and made great progress. She would jump in on her own, with a floaty, and had gained a great deal of confidence. However, she still wouldn't go under, and would freak out if her eyes got wet. So, after a few weeks of seriously oppressive heat, humidity, and daily swimming (practice) at our apartment complex's pool she started her 2nd session of swim camp. During this last session of swim camp Lydia has learned to go under (on her own!), jump in, and SWIM!!! And may I add, SWIM. ON. HER. OWN!!! And we have video footage to prove it! We are SOOOOO proud of all the progress Lydia has made and are so amazed and proud at the swimmer she is becoming!!!
Thumbs up!

As the younger brother in a sister/brother relationship, I completely understand how Micah was only trying to HELP big sister Lydia achieve her goal! Of course he's much too young to be motivated to push her intentionally. Well, at least that's my perspective. Love, Opa
