Lydia has been taking swim lessons for the past 2 weeks on Ft. Bragg. Bree has been very please with the instructor and at how much progress Lydia has made. Before the lessons, Lydia would not put her face NEAR water. Now, she will (almost) willingly jump into the pool to an adult, and, as long as she has goggles on, she doesn't "freak her freak" when she gets water in her eyes or goes under. As a side note, John and Bree put their stellar parenting skills into action during this last week of swim lessons (AKA "serious bribery!!!") and bought a (very expensive, the tail lights up and everything!) Ariel doll at Target. John and Bree told Lydia that if she was able to jump into the pool, on her own, WITHOUT "freaking her freak" then she could "earn" her Ariel doll. (Grrrrreat parenting right?!?!) Anywayzzzz... Here is the video of Lydia on her last day of lessons. What do you think? Do you think she "earned" her Ariel doll? We think so and are very proud of Miss Lyds!



Swim camp is next week - it's run by the swim team head coach - she'll be swimming from 8am to 11am with just a short break for a snack... we'll see how that goes!!! (Just good material for therapy right Opa?!?!) HA! :)
