... You wake up the next morning and your feet still hurt!!! HA! Seriously though, we had a blast at our Brigade Ball on Thursday night. Thanks to our fantastic friends Chris and Denise (who slept over!) we were able to stay out until the wee hours of the morning (2am) with our fabulous command team and some other friends from the unit. We have seriously been spoiled with our current unit, battalion commander, and his family. It will be hard to see our unit change pretty drastically in June when we have the battalion change of command and other moves within the unit. So... for the time being, we're just enjoying our unit as much as we can!
Best coffee group EVER! :)
Soldiers dressed in "period" uniforms. Each soldier represented a major point in the 82nd ABN Division's history and each soldier added an "appropriate" alcoholic liquid to the "grog."

After the ball we went to Paddy's. Paddy's is an Irish pub off post that is owned by an Irishman who came to the states 23 years ago and never went back. Now he owns a pub in the Fay, LOVES the military, and is a fabulous musician. Our battalion commander, some of the other staff, and other friends in our unit love to go to Paddy's after formal functions. So, when LTC Evans learned John could play bagpipes he invited us out to Paddy's with them after the ball. So, we went, John played his pipes, we had a blast, and stayed until about 1:45 in the morning when my feet couldn't take it anymore! HA!

You know you've played your pipes well when a real Irishman (Paddy!)
says so and then gives you a pint on the house! :)
