Lydia's 1st Mariners Game

Lydia got to go to her first Mariners game this weekend and while the game was pretty stinky (12-3 Indians won) :( it was a "Salute to Kids" day so there were lots of fun distractions for Miss Lyds to watch while the game sort of dragged on. For starters she got a free Ichiro jersey when we walked into the stadium. She also got to enjoy her first HUGE ballpark hot dog - complete with ketchup, she learned how to crack peanuts (and then lick the salt off of her fingers!), and cheer for the right team. :)

One of the most special things about the day was that Lydia got to go to the game with Bree's dad "Opa." Baseball has always been the "soundtrack of summer" for the Treusch's and Bree grew up going to Mariner games with "Nonna's" dad "Poppop." So it seeemed only right that Lydia should go to her 1st game with her "Opa."

After the game kids ages 14 and under were able to run around the bases of the field! This was a thrill for the die-hard Mariner fan Bree and Lydia - who just wanted to finally be able to get down and run around after a long game of sitting in seats. :) Thanks to Opa we have a great video of Lydia running the REAL bases!!! (We're working on getting that uploaded!)

We rode Seattle's NEW lightrail to the game - it was awesome and ABOUT TIME Seattle!!! :)
